Learning about Shakespeare from young minds

"English Literature is incomplete without Shakespeare." This was a statement to which I strongly believed in. But, I was appalled by the work of my students on Shakespeare.

To arise the interest of my students in the famous playwright and to get away with the monotony of the lecture method, I decided to let my students do the teaching.

I followed the 'Flip teaching' method to impart the information on Shakespeare to my students.

The students were grouped and were given different topics to teach their fellow mates. They spoke about the life of Shakespeare; Queen Elizabeth; her reign; fashion, religion, culture, beliefs, lifestyle of the people, Globe Theatre and inventions at the time of Shakespeare.

This style of teaching and learning motivated the students to research and gain more knowledge about the time of Shakespeare.
